Help us keep Okanagan waters zebra and quagga mussel free! Help spread the message by talking with with neighbours, friends and family. Boaters and fishers who travel in and out of the Okanagan with their boat or water recreation equipment can inadvertently spread the invasive species. The invasive mussels promote toxic algae which could pollute drinking water. They also clog drinking water intakes and distribution systems costing millions of tax dollars to clean them out of pipes. The invasive mussels can ruin beaches with their razor-sharp shells and dead mussels washiing up along the shoreline.Learn more about the “Don’t move a mussel” campaign sponsored by Okanagan WaterWise, an education and outreach program of the Okanagan Basin Water Board.
